Queens mourns passing of NY1 anchor Ruschell Boone, who died Sunday at age 48

Sep. 5, 2023 By Bill Parry Emmy award-winning reporter and NY1 anchor Ruschell Boone died Sunday due to complications related to pancreatic cancer, according to the new station where she worked for more than 21 years, mostly covering Queens. Queens Carnival celebrates rich Caribbean culture at annual Far Rockaway event

Aug. 28, 2023 By Gabriele Holtermann It was all about Caribbean culture and heritage at the fifth annual Queens Carnival in Far Rockaway on Saturday, Aug. 26. The free family-friendly event included a parade with floats, vendors along the boardwalk at Beach 17th Street, plenty of Caribbean food, fireworks and a music concert at O’Donohue Park. Broad Channel naturalist opens photo exhibit at Resorts World’s Red World Art Gallery
