Jan. 18, 2024 By Bill Parry Members of a Far Rockaway drug and gun trafficking operation were indicted following a six-month investigation that included a series of undercover drug buys and the tracking of several defendants’ phones resulting in the seizure of 10 firearms, including ghost guns, and a kilo of cocaine, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Thursday. Two con men plead guilty in deed fraud scam to steal houses in Queens, Nassau County: DA


Dec. 27, 2023 By Bill Parry A Far Rockaway man and his accomplice from Long Island pleaded guilty to a wide-ranging scheme to steal residential properties in Queens and Nassau County by filing forged deeds, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Wednesday. Russell Carbone, 69, of Beach Ninth Street, and Terrell Hill, 40, of West Hempstead, worked together to target homes where the owners died and their heirs had not taken title to them. Oct. 23, 2023 By Bill Parry A Far Rockaway man was sentenced on Oct. 23 in Queens Supreme Court to 19 years in prison in a 2020 fatal shooting during a marijuana deal gone bad inside Rufus King Park in Jamaica. Torren King, 20, of Beach 47th Street, pleaded guilty in July to manslaughter in the first degree in the October 2020 shooting.
